MOses and Aaron went to the pharoah and said, " The God of Israel says that you should let His people go."
But the pharaoh got angry because he didn't believe in God. As a punishment he made the Israeltes work harder.
Moses went to tell God. " I will force Pharaoh to let my people go." said God. Go and tell him that if he refuses again, dreadful things will happen.
Moses and Aaron returned to the pharaoh. To show that they were sent by God. Aaron threw His walking stick to the ground. Miraculously, it turn into a snake. But the Pharaoh's Magicians could do the same and He was not convinced. He refused to listen to Moses.
SO, God turned the River Nile into blood.
Then frogs swamped the entire place. then Swarms of of gnats and flies followed.
Only Goshen, the palce of these things. but still Pharaoh didn't let the Israelites leave.
One by one Egyptian animals began to die except for the ones on G0shen.
Even when the Egyptians had boils the Pharaoh remained stubborn.
then God sent hail. Thundering hail that beat down the crops and killed all of the remaining cattle.
Plagues of Locusts followed, which ate every last green shoot and tiniest leaf.
Then complete darkness covered the land for three days.
Pharaoh tried reasoning with Moses. But Moses insisted that all Israelites, men, women children be freed.
The pharaoh refused.
Then late one night, God killed the eldest son of every Egyptian family, oncluding the Pharaoh's.
The Israelite families remained safe. God had told each family to kill a lamb or a goat and to splash a little of its blood. on the doors to their homes. Then, they were to roast the meat and eat it with bread withouat yeast.
The blood was a sign that Israelites were in that house. So the angel of death passed over any house that was marked.
God said that the Israelites should always celebrate that day as a special festival, Every year afterwards, they ate a Passover meal to remember God Has saved them.
They caught up with the Israelites at the Red Sea.
Moses stretched out his arm. and God sent a wind to blow back the water.
The Israelites hurriedly crossed the sea.
When the Egyptian soldiers followed, water began rushing in. and killed everyone.
